Mountain State University (MSU) provides the excitement of a university experience on a campus that's big enough to be diverse and small enough to be personable. Students come from almost every continent in the world to study at MSU. In recent years we have enrolled students from over 40 countries.
Mountain State University's main campus is located in the city of Beckley, West Virginia, in the central portion of the Southeastern United States. While it is surrounded by rural areas, Beckley is only one hour away by car from the state's capital city of Charleston and five hours from the nation's capital city of Washington, D.C.
As you begin your journey to the United States, you may experience a difference in language. Many students from time to time need additional training to assist them with writing and speaking in the English language. Although there are many similarities between the U.S. classroom and the classroom in your country, the U.S. classroom is influenced by the country's historical roots, cultural values and prominent figures throughout the country's history.
English Language Training at Mountain State University offers intensive English study to students whose native language is not English and who do not meet the language testing requirement for University admission.
