Seattle Central Community College (SCCC) is located on Capitol Hill, a 5 minute walk to the central downtown area. Its Broadway neighborhood is one of the city's liveliest with over 60 ethnic and regional restaurants and shops, three movie theatres and lots of "night life."
Learn English / Intensive English Program – Seattle Central offers general English courses at the beginning, low-intermediate, and high-intermediate levels. At these levels, full time students take a two- hour Reading /Writing /Grammar class and a two-hour Speaking/Listening/Grammar class everyday for five days per week. Each level is ten weeks long during fall, winter, and spring quarters. Summer quarter is only eight weeks long, but the number of hours of instruction is the same as in the other quarters. Students who complete the Intensive English Program (3 Levels) may continue in either the College Bridge Program (3 Levels) or in Advanced English Program. The College also offers short-term certificate and internship programs.

University Programs (College Transfer): Seattle Central is well known for excellent academic programs and dedicated instructors. We offer a two-year degree that makes it easy to transfer to university for the final two years of your bachelor's degree. At significantly less cost than attending comparable programs at US universities, we are the affordable choice for high-quality US higher education. For the student who wishes to earn a bachelor's degree at a U.S. university, a degree from Seattle Central Community College opens many doors.
In the College Transfer program at Seattle Central, students earn an Associate of Arts or Associate of Science degree. An Associate's degree takes two years and is transferable to a four-year college or university. After students complete their Associate's degree, they can transfer to a four-year institution and complete a Bachelor's degree by taking two more years of study in their major.

Professional & Technical Programs: Over 30 different programs at Seattle Central provide students with practical career training in professional and technical fields that are in high demand. Depending on the chosen program, students work toward a Certificate (approximately one year) or an Associate of Applied Science Degree (normally two years).

The Short-Term Certificate (STC) programs offer a range of options for international students planning to study in the United States for a short period of time. International students in the STC program can study with American students, earn college credits, and earn an International Education Programs Certificate of Completion in just 3 months. For those with more time, the programs may all be extended up to 12 months. Students may select an optional volunteer internship to meet some program requirements. A key advantage of the STC program is its flexibility. Most of the courses offered are in the liberal arts and sciences, so students may be able to transfer the credits to a four-year institution if desired. In addition, students can begin their program of choice in any quarter (Fall, Winter, Spring, or Summer), and can take the program for any of the durations listed below. (Note: Summer quarter class offerings may be more limited than in other quarters.)

Internships and Work Permission: Students may be eligible to complete an optional part-time volunteer internship while enrolled in a Short-Term Certificate program. Also, after completing a Short-Term Certificate that lasts at least 9 months, students may be eligible to apply for paid work permission on or off campus for up to 12 months through Optional Practical Training (OPT)
Seattle Central has many convenient housing options. It is not necessary to own a car or live far away from campus. The two most common housing types are homestays (living with a host family) and apartments.
