Welcome to the Seattle Central Institute of English (SCIE),
a part of Seattle Central Community College.
We are a dynamic program located in the heart of the beautiful, world-famous city of Seattle. SCIE serves
over 400 students from all over the world, and offers three programs, with over 25 different classes.

Intensive English Program - SCIE offers general English courses at the beginning,low-intermediate, and high-intermediate levels.
At these levels, full time students take a two- hour Reading /Writing /Grammar class and a two-hour Speaking/Listening/Grammar class everyday for five days per week.
Each level is ten weeks long during fall, winter, and spring quarters. Summer quarter is only eight weeks long, but the number of hours of instruction is the same as in the other quarters.
Students who complete the Intensive English Program (3 Levels) may continue in either the
College Bridge Program (3 Levels) or in Advanced English Program. The College also offers short-term certificate and internship programs.
